Housekeeping Cleaning - How to Clean Various Kitchen Work Surfaces

When housekeeping, one of the major house cleaning tips is that cleaning the kitchen worktop surfaces regularly is essential to making our kitchens look brilliant. But remember it has a practical purpose, and cleaning on a regular basis is very important. Here I list what I consider are really useful Home Cleaning Goddess cleaning tips for a range of various kitchen surfaces.

General Surfaces.

It helps to clean as I go, wiping down with a mild cleaner (a simple mix of washing up liquid and water in a spray) or anti-bacterial substance. In the end, this is where the food handling happens. I think it is very important that one should wipe your kitchen worktops every time you use them.

Kitchen Tiles.

With kitchen tiles, one should be cleaning regularly, again either with mild cleaner as above or antibacterial spray. One will find, where there is grout, you may need to create a cleaning solution consisting of water and bleach (mix four lots of water to every one part water). A discarded toothbrush can be used, and is amazing for managing the job of cleaning grout.

Glazed Tiles.

If you have opted for special tiles, like glazed tiles, then you want to steer clear of using anything like a wire wool or abrasive cleaner.

Laminate Surfaces.

Laminate should be cleaned and wiped as normal, with particular difficult stains, my recommendation is to use a cream cleaner as that always works well. Something to consider is you can make a a paste of bicarbonate of soda and washing up liquid.

Wood surfaces.

Surfaces of wood will need oiling on a regular basis. It is essential if you are to stop the wood taking on too much water. Make sure you deal with any stains, such as curry or tomato sauce as soon as possible. Again a mild cleaner, and antibacterial cleaner is all one needs for wood surfaces. You need to rub firmly, and you will have your wood kitchen worktops appearing beautiful.

Stainless steel surfaces.

With stainless steel worktops it is those pesky finger prints that need constant attention. A decent microfiber cloth is fantastic at meeting the challenge of finger marks. You could always add a drop of baby oil, then the fingermarks will soon be eradicated before you know it. With metal surfaces do not consider using wire wool, or abrasive materials as one will discover that it will scratch and damage your stainless steel pride and joy.

Granite surfaces.

One should consider the granite surface as the king of kitchen work tops. Granite surfaces tend to avoid staining, and can look fantastic. The granite surface will still need to be cleaned on a regular basis as per the instructions above, you will find that a simple cleaning solution does the job extremely satisfactorily. Further, like surfaces made from stainless steel you need to avoid relying upon cleaners and clothes that are likely to damage the surface as you do not want to cause damage to the surface.
